A study completed in 2017 recommended a roundabout design to address future needs of the Franklin Boulevard and Karcher Road intersection. The study looked at multiple options and considered initial costs, traffic level, safety and other factors. The offset roundabout design:
LHTAC and the City of Nampa are committed to working with the Nampa community during this project. They welcome public input regarding the design and are available to answer project questions. Property owners, businesses and the public will have an opportunity to participate in a public hearing in Spring 2021.
Spring 2021 | Host public hearing to present designs and gather input.
Early 2021 | Complete environmental analysis
Mid 2021 | Prepare preliminary design
Late 2021 | Finalize design plans
The City of Nampa was awarded a grant through the Idaho Transportation Department's Freight Program to design and construct the proposed improvements. The project addresses mobility and safety needs along a critical freight corridor within the City of Nampa. Funds are programmed for construction in 2022–2023.
