Updated Press Release: Nampa Police investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run.

On Oct. 22, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Nampa Police officers responded to the 2400 block of Hillcrest Way in Nampa for a report of a vehicle versus a pedestrian crash. Upon arrival, officers located a 43-year-old Nampa male who had been struck by a vehicle. The suspect vehicle had fled the scene. Nampa Fire Department personnel and Canyon County Paramedics responded to the scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. The victim has been identified as Leslie Nassar, a 43-year-old Nampa resident. Nassar is a citizen of Australia. The two young females that were injured are daughters of Nassar. Family members have asked for privacy as they grieve the loss of their loved one.

Nampa Police officers and detectives began to investigate the crash as the suspect vehicle had fled the scene. It was later found out that also injured in this hit-and-run were a 3-year-old female and an 8-year-old female, both related to the victim in this case. Both of the juveniles were treated and released at the hospital for their injuries sustained in the crash.

Nampa Police dispatch personnel reviewed a suspicious phone call they had earlier received, reporting the hit-and-run crash. Patrol officers and detectives were able to track down the owner of the phone and interview him. He admitted to hitting the victim and fleeing the scene. He had been driving a white 1992 Ford F-150. He is identified as Tristian Donovan Myers, a 20-year-old Nampa man.

Myers was charged with leaving the scene of an injury crash, a felony. He is being held in the Canyon County jail on that charge. Nampa Police detectives are still investigating this case. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this crash. The details of how this crash occurred are still under investigation at this time.
